The High frequency ASOS (HF-ASOS) is an experimental data feed we receive from the FAA which has 1-minute resolution data from many major airport weather stations throughout the US. As an experimental feed, sometimes it's not available. This tool is a quick check on whether we have seen HF-ASOS data in the past 24 hours. It does this by sampling several stations which should have data.
You can use our Availability service to keep track of the availability of data from our public data providers.
Synoptic restricts access to the HF-ASOS data feed to those who ask for it. This is public data and can be used by any application or no additional fee. We keep it request-only due to certain challenges with using the data compared to the normal ASOS dataset (which includes a 5 minute version of HF-ASOS data).
